This is my last post of 2017 and both of these wines are sold out until about May because they had a really good selling season. You'll start to see the 2017 bottles next year.
Happy New Year!!!... well not just yet, but what wine would you want at your New Year's Eve party? or any major celebration? A bubbly? Champagne? A Prosecco? A Sweet Sparkler? Today's picks are on the dryer side because they are made using the traditional Champagne in bottle fermentation process that gives your wine that extra fizz. You thought Michigan didn't have these styles of sparkling wine? Think again L. Mawby Vineyard & Winery, which I wrote about previously is where you can find these two great sparklers. Would you like to know what they are?
The first wine has been sold out since early October 2017, "Grace," a dry pinot noir rose that has tons of character with ripe pinot flavors and is their best seller. My second choice has been sold out since early December 2017, "Tradition," a dry blend of pinot noir and chardonnay grapes that has ripe pinot flavors to begin, a chardonnay taste in the middle and finishes crisp!
Both "Grace" and "Tradition" are $23 and would be ideal for your New Year's Eve party unfortunately they are all sold out. So I have to suggest another pick if you want to ring in the new year right. Not everyone is a fan of the dry bubbly. A great crowd pleaser from the same vineyard is the M. Lawrence "Detroit" This is a semi-sweet sparkler created to be enjoyed any time. You usually can find this in your local grocery store or wine seller. If not you can always order wine from their online store. They only ship to select states: CA, CO, DC, FL, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, OH, SC, TX, VA and WI. Plus, with an attractive price tag of $15 and it's taste you are going to love this not only for your New Year's Eve party but for any special occasion, Valentine's Day is coming up soon, "wink wink." Anyway, you can't go wrong. If you aren't a sparkling wine person read some of my previous posts and make a selection, I only recommend wines I've tried and liked and want to share it with you.
Cheers! I hope you grab a bottle and bring in the New Year or whatever occasions the right way!
